To be Perfectly Honest
Well I am going back and writing this almost a month after the fact and to be perfectly honest - I don't know what to tell you about this day. I know it was a Wednesday - therefore surely Chuck, Becca and I went to Wednesday night service. I must have been staring at the screen trying to decide what to write. I just need to take a photo on days like these and let it be my words. ;0)

Having Eyes for One
Having Eyes for One
TGIF Today God Is First Volume 1, by Os Hillman

"Then they were willing to take Him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading." - John 6:21
The disciples were traveling across the lake to Capernaum when a strong wind arose and the waters grew rough. Suddenly they saw a figure on the water, and they were terrified until Jesus called out to them and identified Himself.
Isn't that the first thing we do when unexpected calamities or even something that we have never experienced before comes into our life? We panic until we can see that God is behind these events in our lives. In Romans, Paul tells us that, "from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen" (Rom. 11:36). God has an eternal filter in which nothing can touch us unless He permits it. Even satan must have permission to touch us. And God may even use satan for His own ends, as in the case of Job.
God shows us a second principle in this story. The Scriptures say when the disciples were willing to take Jesus into the boat, they reached the shore where they were heading.
I was faced with some very difficult circumstances in my business. I had no income for some time, and I saw no immediate remedy to the situation. The circumstances created fear in my heart. The anxiety began to grow until, one day after my evening prayer walk, the Lord said, "How long do you want to keep your eyes on the circumstances instead of Me? Do you think I have brought you this far to throw you into the water?" The truth was that I was halfway in already because my eyes were looking at the "big waves" surrounding my boat. One night, in a support group for divorced men, the leader asked each of us to keep our eyes on two men who were going to walk from the room. One man represented Jesus, the other, our circumstances. "Now, I want you to keep your eyes on both people," he said. The men stood up and began walking across the room in opposite directions. It was impossible to keep looking at each of them at the same time. So we had to choose which we would focus on.
The lesson was clear. We could not keep our eyes on Jesus and our circumstance at the same time.
This was so good! Had to share with you guys - I so enjoy this devotional and included the link - just in case you were interested in signing up!

Don't give up on yourself!
Well - Sunday is weigh day! We have finished week one of our 12 week competition and all of us lost a little bit! Yeah - we are all heading the right direction.
Beth Moore's, Praying God's Word is scripture put to prayer. A new goal I have for myself is to start memorizing more scripture and some of these scripture prayers. I plan to start with this one:
Lord, though I live in the world, I do not wage war as the world does. The weapons I fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish stongholds. Your power can demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of You, God, and take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) Enable me, Lord! Help me not just to read it and say it, but to believe it and do it!
Her book is about learning how to break free from spiritual strongholds by praying God's word! I have complete faith that the Lord is going to set us free from this unhealthy stronghold! Some of you are facing this same giant, and I know you are going to be free from it too!

Celebration and another Photo Adventure
Celebrated tonight! Chuck woke early and finished up today! Yeah!
We are proud of you Chuck for being a responsible young man!
Now - we are praying you are blessed with an amazing job!
Our little party included his favorite Asian Zing Buffalo Wild Wings and Chocolate Cupcakes!
Becca wasn't feeling the best today, but was up to shopping for her last minute items.
She made a pretty thorough list - hope we've remembered everything.
She is really looking forward to it!
Charles and I went on a two mile walk at White Rock Lake and shot pictures the first mile then picked up our pace and got some good exercise heading back.
Here are a few photos from our outing.
The cattails were bursting!
Drying out those wings and enjoying the sunshine!
Trees were full of ducks - this particular kind sounded like pigs! Wanna hear something gross - we are pretty sure that beautiful white looking frost on the trees...is really their poo! Eww!
It was easy to catch them flying - they were everywhere!
I scared them into the water - got to close to them!
One of my favorites!
So many people out enjoying the day!
There were other ducks near him that sound like a bicycle horn!
Started at 155 - went to 145 then back here to 155!

Demolitions and Dentists
Anne Marie and I were driving back to the office after lunch to see this!

They are demolishing the old movie theatre near the mall! It stinks when a little piece of your history goes away. Charles and I used to go there on dates and even took the kids there when they were little bitty.
Then after work - I flew home - grabbed Becca and we headed to the dentist.
BTW - Bec says this has got to be the nastiest tasting "tooth paste" ever created!
FYI - the dentist said it was cherry flavored!
Home again, home again - made it to 15 minutes on the elliptical - then had some soup for dinner.
Becca made some delicious little blue cheese burger muffins - yum!
Chuck was off on the job hunt again today - he's hittin it hard - praying God leads his steps to that just right job that He has prepared for him.
I'm so proud of my family - they have really been sticking to their health goals that they have set! Some of the short term goals are about to be surpassed - YEAH!
The family watched Amer. Idol and were less than pleased with some of the results - WE LIKED ADAM BROCK! We agreed with some of the results and will be picking a new favorite soon! Who do you like?
