Italian

seemed to be the subject of the day!
Ma-maw told us about the 450 sandals she saw at Nordstrom's the other day!

We had italian for dinner - calzones, stromboli and 3 types of pizza (supreme, pepperoni and white).  We love white pizza with sliced tomatoes.  Our homemade white pizza is my favorite - hands down!

We even have stuffed shells prepared for tomorrow's meal.

How Quickly things can change

What a day!  Something I was reminded of today was how quickly things can change.  A friend is under a lot of pressure right now and being reminded who is in charge of it all.  I have seen him trying to shift his focus.   He is asking for His help, but still holding on to it too.   It is incredible when I step back and look at this.  It is almost like he has invisible weights on his shoulders from bearing this load.  He still is trying to carry most of it himself.  Today was a day that is bringing him to his making or breaking point.  Help me pray for him and those around him that he will first of all - Let God work, second of all realize that he can distribute some of the work and that it is ok to accept help from those around him.  These next few weeks need major prayer covering!

Busy Day

We were swamped at work - it's just that time of year.  The orders are shipping and dates are quickly approaching which generates a ton of phone calls.  Two school bids had to get out today, so finishing touches were added to complete the files.  Chad was out sick today (it may be the flu! - please pray it is not passed around to us!!!) - which generated some extra tasks for all of us.  The sequin shipment cleared customs - yay!  Shipping instructions were figured and sent.
I had my teeth cleaned today - the best hygenist yet!

It is Ma-maw's birthday today!  She said she had a nice daying today decorating for Christmas - We sure do love her - very, very much!

Another Kindness about to be executed

I am about to execute another random act of kindness and would like to know your opinion.  I dug through all of my old correspondence and pulled out the letters from my childhood friend.  She was my very best friend and  moved away when she was in elementary school.  Her parents divorced when she was young and her permanent residence was with her Mom in the south.  I had the privilege of spending a lot of time with her in the summer when she came to stay with her Dad.  During the year she was very good about writing to me.  I dug out all the letters and postcards I could find from her and plan to make copies.  It has some of her history and some of mine.  I plan to send her a copy of each to take a trip down memory lane.
My question to you is this - if you were her - would you be happy with receiving a copy - or should I send her the originals?

Dad is having fun with his new computer - needs just a few more components and he will be good to go!
I colored my hair tonight - went back to my darker color for now.
Chuck shaved himself a goatie - it looks nice - but so different - no more little boys living here!
Becca made the coolest shirt - will try to post a picture soon - it is a galaxy inspired shirt - this girl has talent!  She took a photo on line with little to no instructions - figured out how to create it and made a masterpiece!

Leftovers

We didn't do much today other than laundry.  We spent the day at home doing a little cleaning and eating Thanksgiving leftovers.  This is another wonderful thing about the holidays - you get to enjoy all that yummy food for a few more days!
Chuck worked and had a nice day.

Lunch with the Cousins

We started out the morning running a few errands for Dad.  The kids and I then met with Aunt Collette, Lindsay, Jonathan, Benjamin and Bethany who is Lindsay's roommate for lunch at Chick-fil-a.  It was nice to see Lindsay and allow the cousins to get together while she was home.  I could kick myself for not taking a picture!
Becca and I stopped by Lifeway on the way home to grab a few of their Black Friday specials.  I then went to close out my "fun money" checking account.  They are changing their terms from free to monthly fees - and I don't want to pay them - so there you go - close it up!
We stopped by Fiesta closer to Chuck's work last week and they make fresh flour tortillas.  I was going to pass a different Fiesta and needed a few things and was really craving some of that fresh yummy goodness.  I was so bummed - the one where we stopped to shop did not offer fresh tortillas!  Oh well - I treasure my weekend rompings with my Midge and the interesting little things we encounter - I know it won't be too many years and she will be off on her own!  As we walked the entire store looking for anything close to that fresh warm flatbread we saw a few interesting things.
They sell live crab there if anyone is interested!

Have you ever heard of fairy tale squash?  I have not - they were huge!

We didn't buy either of these - but did get some delicious coconut juice!
