Goals for the new year

Well - my goal is the same that I set last year...still working on balance in everything.  Trying to fit the important things in each day and not let the unnecessary matters overpower my time.  I don't plan on writing daily this year, but would like to at least post once a week - possibly more.
 Events of Week Two:
Chuck got his truck back and it is working wonderfully - he is so thankful to have a working vehicle.  Its amazing how a little thing called a spider injector can spin out such a problem!  He also set up his budget to be prepared for life, but allocate a little for fun too.
I have my car back too!  The heater works and so does my windshield washer - yay!  We are waiting on a cable that needs replacing - but it is in much better shape!  Thank you Uncle Tim for taking time out of your busy schedule to help us - we love you!
It has been an eventful week.  It has been a stressful and stress relieving week.  I went back to work on Wednesday returning from our Christmas break.  One co-worker was released from employment due to her current health on Tuesday.  On Wednesday, I was able to give my notice, the conversation was not easy, but thanks to His Power, Mercy and Grace, it was expressed.  It was received with shock and unbelief but without incident.  Another co-worker gave notice the next day, which also was received with shock.  Please pray for all involved - those heading on to new careers and those left behind.  I truly love each of them and want the best for all involved - I am praying that the Lord will bless each person who is leaving and those who remain.  The scramble has been on to find replacements, adjust travel plans, prepare our desks for those to follow, fill in for those who have left and prepare for our new positions.  Some weight has been lifted and some has been shifted.   Please pray for me to be effective and efficient in preparing and training in my final week.
Charles has enjoyed the week off.  It has been a restful week for him.  He had a small cold but seems to have knocked it away.
Becca was able to go camping this week with Misti and Tim at Tyler State Park.
Their little cabin
Campfire with hotdogs and marshmallows
A trip to the zoo
Fishing Contest
Whoever caught the first fish would win $10
;0(   no fish were caught - oh well - it was still fun!
Can't go camping without going on a nature hike!
They all had an awesome time on the camping trip.
Jonathan and Benjamin had their big birthday bash this week - turning 12 on 12-12-12 was an exciting day - one they looked forward to for many years!  Lindsay went back to college this week for her second semester.
Friday breakfast was fun - it was a family breakfast - all of us with Aunt Collette and Mamaw.  Anne Marie stopped for a few minutes on her way to work.  Aunt Collette brought us some of the cupcakes from the birthday party.  If you know me, I'm not usually a cake eater - but I must say - those cupcakes were AWESOME!  I ate like six of them over the past week - I guess that means it is time to hit the elliptical!!!!
I am trying a new budgeting method and started to prepare it this last week - I think it will be an easy method to stay on track and meet some goals.
I also am brainstorming menu/meal ideas - if you have a great method let me know.  I am seriously considering doing something Collette mentioned years ago about her in-laws.  If I remember correctly - they used to get the same 7 meals every week.  For example, every Monday is grilled cheese and tomato soup, Tuesday is spaghetti, Wednesday is tuna noodle casserole, etc.  I'm thinking about doing this having the same meals for one month then change it up...thoughts?   I am looking for inexpensive, yet healthy meals!
On my last post - I mentioned a photo challenge - well day one had me stumped and I didn't do it yet!  Any suggestions for a photo of resolve?!?
Ok - I really must go and get ready for the day - but wanted to mention one more thing - Becca has started a drawing challenge - I can't wait to see what she creates!   Have a great week!
